This reflection arose from a comment on my article in which I talked about the importance of grammar in a story . You will remember the issue of the novel published by Rizzoli, which contained, before editing, punctuation and spelling errors. No indulgence, for me, towards those who claim to call themselves writers and don't know the grammatical rules. I don't care about the story, just as I don't care about the content of a post if it contains grammatical errors. Art doesn't exist Provocative title, I know. But it is so. Art does not exist when the mechanisms and rules of that art are not known. I don't know how to paint and I would never put one of my paintings up for sale, because I would be selling filthy rubbish. And it doesn't matter how beautiful the theme I choose to paint.
I can't tell clients "Yes, but look, I represented Val d'Orcia" or "Hey, I portrayed Marylin Monroe!" Art must be thoroughly understood before putting it up for sale. The apprenticeship is there for everyone I am convinced that many - but no, I think it is more - many of the self-publishers are just starting out, that is, they wanted to write their first novel and sold it on Amazon, because now Phone Number Data we can all publish and this is wonderful , Really. How much training was there? And by apprenticeship I don't mean that it took you 5 years to write your novel, no, I don't care about that time, that's not called apprenticeship, it's just writing. I'm talking about what you wrote – and read! – before writing and publishing that novel. That 's the mess. Stories were not initially planned here. I hadn't really considered it as a blog category.
Here I wanted to talk about writing and that's it. Then a collective writing project about zombies was born online and so I decided to participate. And the first blog stories were born. They were well received and perhaps this encouraged me to continue. To do experiments. Because after all, if you want to be a writer, for work or as a hobby, you still have to make yourself known, right? Therefore, every now and then, publishing a few short stories is good for your health. There was even a period in which every Holy Sunday I published a story, but it was easy: I had a collection of 80 stories of 300 words ready. Then I slowed down, now they come out more rarely. But that was – and still is – my apprenticeship. But for me it was apprenticeship - and will continue to be - to participate in the various editorial selections aimed at publishing short stories.
